Have fun in lessons while reinforcing note values!

There are numerous ways you can use these flashcards. I find them most useful when doing composition activities. With beginner students composition choices can seem overwhelming, so these cards allow students to chose their note value by chance. Then we assign a note name to the note value and voila! our composition starts to take shape.

You can also make a rhythm with the cards and clap/tap/jump it out:-) There are rest flashcards too, to increase the challenge.

To help your flashcards last longer, try printing on cardstock instead of paper and laminate to prevent wear and tear.
